Canoe Safari Inverness
Price per person from:
£75
The River Beauly is a bit of a hidden gem, within easy driving distance of Inverness. It winds its way through lovely countryside with the end of this particular stretch of the river being a spectacular gorge.
On this 4 to 5 hour journey, we guide you from the little village of Struy down river into the spectacular Aigas Gorge amphitheatre to look for ospreys, otter, deer and lots of other local inhabitants. The journey has some straightforward grade one rapids en route as it winds its way through the countryside. As you pass by the river island (Eilean Aigas), the river current slows to almost a stand-still giving you more time to take in the ambience of the gorge.
With still waters and easy paddling amongst towering cliffs, this trip is suitable for novice paddlers and younger children who can sit still long enough to enjoy the experience.
Despite its remote feeling location, it's not too far away from civilisation to reach from Inverness.
We suggest you bring along a picnic for a river-side lunch stop, giveing you the chance to chill-out and see what wildlife might appear as you much your sandwiches.
