So, where should you go?
Ultimately, the decision about where to go will be yours depending on your level of competence, experience, and objectives, however, here are a few ideas for you to consider:
Great Glen Canoe & Kayak trail
Fort George and Chanonry Point
A fine short trip for an evening kayaking after work or a half day paddle. Chanonry Point is known to many locals as the place to visit if you want a good chance of seeing the resident dolphins. Fort George is an impressive fortification that is still used by the military.
West Coast of Scotland
The West Coast of Scotland is a mecca for sea kayakers from all over the world, with a stunning coastline, back drops of wild islands and towering mountains, an abundance of wild life, fjord-like sea lochs and the occasional bit of sunshine! It really is a beautiful place to plan a sea kayak adventure.
From Loch Sunart, to the Moidart Peninsula, around Mallaig, The Summer Isles, Plockton, Skye Coastline and much, much more.
Sea Kayak Instruction & Coaching
In Your Element also offers group kayaking instruction for those who would like a few pointers before setting out on their own. Whether you’re a school or youth group, a family or a bunch of mates wanting to try something new, we can help. Our experienced instructors will ensure you get the most out of a coaching session tailoring it to your needs. If you let us know where you’re going to be based, we can hopefully arrange a coaching day for you.
Alternatively, if you’ve already got some experience but want to tackle an expedition that’s perhaps just beyond your abilities, we can organise and lead a sea kayak expedition for you; whether it’s on the stunning West Coast of Scotland or perhaps, around the Summer Isles.
Minimum booking fees apply to private coaching sessions.
