Some of the best experiences in life are free, but we shouldn’t take that for granted and we all need to help protect those things that we treasure.
Whilst walking in the Cairngorms National Park (or any wild place for that matter), we can help protect the lochs and rivers by treading carefully along banks and
shorelines. Water can, and does, do a lot of damage to river banks when in flood, so apart from being careful to tread safely, we can help speed up the erosion process by following marked paths and trails where they exist.
