Seasonal Multi-Activity Instructors Across Scotland

Multi-activity instructor positions are available at Inverness, Aviemore, Fort Augustus and Loch Tay (Killin).

2026 pay scales will be:

Instructor
£28,300 pro rata
Lead Instructor
£30,000 pro rata
Senior Instructor 
£32-33,000 pro rata

A range of qualifications is required for multi-activity instructor posts.  Canoeing and gorge walking are the two most popular activities, so proven experience in these areas is desirable. In 2026, the Aviemore team is particularly looking for a mountain bike leader qualification, and the Inverness team is particularly looking for raft guide tickets.

We can be very flexible about the duration of summer contracts to suit your personal circumstances & would consider everything from 2 months (July & August) to 7 months.

Freelance Instructors

In Your Element is always looking for freelance instructors to complement the team of core instructors.  In Your Element has bases in Inverness, Aviemore, the Great Glen and Loch Tay, covering bookings across Scotland.

In Your Element is particularly interested in instructors with experience and qualifications in the following:

  • Archery
  • Open Canoeing
  • Sea Kayaking
  • Experience in white-water activities, e.g. gorge walking, canyoning, rafting
  • Mountain biking
